It’s easy to search for information in EBSCOhost. You can create searches that are as narrow or broad as you need them, and display or save the results in a variety of ways.
To search EBSCOhost:
Choose the databases that you want to search. Mark the check boxes to the left of the database names and click Continue.
You can use the Search Screen selected by your library administrator, or choose another by selecting it on the Tabbed Toolbar.
Enter your terms in the Find field. You can use Boolean operators (and, or, not) with your search. If available, field codes and search history may also be selected.
On the Refine Search sub-tab, select any search options you want. You can use limiters or expanders to broaden or narrow the focus of your search.
Click Search. The results of your search are displayed.
Many databases present results by source type. You can click on the source icons to view your results by source type (periodicals, newspapers, etc.).
Where a "Sort by" drop-down list is available, you can re-sort your results by author, date, relevance, etc.
To print, e-mail or save several search results at once, you must add them to your folder.
From the Choose Database Screen, click the Title List link (if available) for a full list of publication titles and coverage dates.
From your browser window, click Back to return to the list of databases. (You can also click the Choose Databases tab.)
From the Choose Database Screen, click the More Information link after the short description of the database. (Or, from any of the Search Screens, click the Database Help link.)
Database-specific help provides more information on which default fields and/or searchable fields are available with a database. Topics may include a description of the database; tips on searching the database; a list of default fields and/or searchable fields; and explanations of those fields.
To close the window, click Back.
